Where to Eat in La Jolla, California

You’ve probably heard of La Jolla in San Diego – it’s one of those areas you just have to check out when you’re there because it’s iconic and a main tourist attraction. The seaside cliffs, the beautiful sunsets, the seals, the cove.

But the food options in La Jolla are also worth writing about. If you find yourself in La Jolla, here are some of my favorite spots to sip and dine:

The Taco Stand

Seriously the best fish taco I have ever eaten. I know San Diego is known for fish tacos, but I was blown away by how good it was. There’s usually a line so you can call your order ahead, then just walk in and pick it up.

The Cottage

Two words: Homemade Scones. A go-to breakfast spot in La Jolla.

Sugar & Scribe

Right across the street from The Cottage and just as damn good. I loved every bite of my meal + they do mimosa flights if you’re down to get boozy.

Karl Strauss Brewery

Just one of the many spots in SD with good beer. If you’re in La Jolla, definitely check this one out.

George’s at the Cove

I mean could the view possibly be any better? George’s is delicious and a top restaurant in San Diego, making it a perfect spot for a fancier dinner night out.

Honorable mention:
Aka, really good spots to check out that technically aren’t in La Jolla.

Hodad’s

Go for: Their big, famou burgers. They were even featured on Diners Drive-ins & Dives!
Location: Downtown San Deigo

Ironside Fish & Oyster

For their seafood. Try the mussels and of course, the raw bar.
Location: Little Italy, San Diego

¡SALUD!

Arguably some of the best tacos in SD.
Location: Barrio Logan, San Diego
