Staying at Marquis Los Cabos, Mexico

Cabo San Lucas is the West Coast’s not-so-hidden gem in Mexico. Understandably a hotspot for Mid- and Western states, I never truly understood why anyone on the East Coast would venture that far just to get to Mexico.

Two flights and 10 hours of travel to reach our destination from New York. Why would anyone willingly choose to do that when you can hop a short and direct flight to Mexico’s beach towns on the Gulf, like Tulum or Cozumel?

The better question though, is why would you not?

Once you experience Cabo, you’ll understand why California types have been obsessing over it for years. You’ll fall in love with Cabo’s temperate climate, hand-crafted tacos, and all-inclusive hotel options like the luxurious Marquis Los Cabos on this beautiful corner of the world.

I’ll admit, I selected Marquis because of its picture-perfect design and view-tiful beachfront location, but ultimately Marquis selected me – for the relaxation, the tranquility, and the nourishment I didn’t realize I so badly needed.

Nestled on the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula, the vibe of this adults-only resort was the perfect combination of playfulness and sophistication, for a polished authenticity that can’t be beat.  Plus, the view isn’t so bad either.

The food was delicious – from the ceviche to the fresh margaritas, and of course the Taco Tuesday poolside station.

We explored by boat, on horseback, and mostly on our backs lounging by the pool.

Cabo was a healing, rejuvenating, and relaxing vacation. Read more about the difference between travel and vacation and how this trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico and staying at Marquis Los Cabos made me realize it.
