Review: The Work + Travel Course

According to the duo behind the term, a Bucketlist Bombshell is “someone who believes in living life on her own terms.” A go-getter, a dreamer and a doer. Someone who values the freedom to create their own lifestyle by being their own boss.

I think there is a part of everyone who can find a little piece of that in themselves, no matter where you are in life or what you do for a living.

Who are the original Bucketlist Bombshells? Cassie + Shay, a best friend duo who found each other on the road in Playa del Carmen, Mexico and bonded over lattes and creating the ultimate Bucket List. They sought out together to check off their Bucket List through South America, North America and Asia, discovering new cultures and experiencing amazing adventures while generating an income by working online.

They then decided to teach other gals how to follow their dreams and embrace independence by working online and traveling the world.

Cue the Work + Travel course.

Motivation in following your dreams, whatever they might be, is a huge part of this course. From inspiring quotes to #GirlBoss tips, and personalized follow ups or Facebook updates, these girls know how to keep you going through the weeks.

Support is a valuable asset to this course. It can be scary to embark on a journey you’re not accustomed to, or intimidating to start out in a new career. Cassie and Shay know that BBITs (Bucketlist Bombshells In Training) need some extra support, and they offer that through the Facebook group, and by always being available and super responsive.

Resources galore, this course will teach you something new no matter what level you’re at. From in-depth guides, websites to use, webinars to take, and more.. the course is chock full of really valuable resources. This was probably my favorite asset – since these girls have already lived and learned working online, their recommendations and sources we’re accurate and highly beneficial.

Organization is key for not just working online, but for being your own boss. The Work + Travel course doesn’t fall short here. Cassie + Shay keep things as organized as possible, and provide a weekly workbook (with tasks and “homework”) to help keep things in check.invitejan_button

Overall I think the course was great, and I really feel that the pros do outweigh the cons. But there is always room for improvement.

For example, a minor thing like Module 1 containing a little too much information. It was a bit overwhelming for the first lesson in the course. But after recently speaking with Shay & Cassie, I’ve learned that they are working on updating Module 1 for the next session!

On a more grand scale of evaluating the course, my biggest comment would be that not everything will apply to you.

The Work Part – Newbie vs. Experienced.

Many parts of the course were geared towards individuals who are not working “online” as of yet. The course offers an abundance of resources and tools to find your virtual skill and develop them into a business… whether it be creative design, digital marketing, writing, etc.

These parts were a little humdrum for me, since I’ve already found a way to profit from working online and have been doing so for the past 6 months. However, the refresher was nice and I learned how to position myself and my skills in a more effective way!

The Travel Part – Relocating vs. Vacationing.

The travel aspect of the course focuses on teaching ways to pick up and relocate to a new destination in the world… how to realistically and strategically plan for this and how to continue to afford to do this once situated in your new place.

I love to travel, and enjoy visiting new places. But I’m not currently looking to move to Thailand, or Peru, or Europe. Love to visit them, but my life and home is here in New York.

While a lot of what the course offers is actually about living on the road (and not totally applicable for me), there was still plenty to gain as someone who might just frequently work from the road!

  • What are your thoughts on the bonuses courses that were included? I am trying to decide on which bundle to purchase and am curious if I should have the bonus courses weigh in on that decision.
